First time I heard them was during the closing scenes of "The Trailer Park Boys Movie" they played "Bobcaygeon". I thought that was the perfect song as they were showing the characters each experiencing happiness in their individual settings. I looked for them online and have enjoyed listening to their music since then as well.

Sad loss for Canada. Best wishes for Gord

Watched it on CBC, damn, they were ON it tonight. Hell of a man, to know he's dying, and going out for a final tour. Even better, raises the issue of the Natives plight in the north. The man is dying of cancer, yet he talks of other's plight. Pure class, right there. Always loved the Hip, but this whole tour and final night will vault them into legend status, in Canada, at least. Too bad they never really caught on outside our borders, the rest of the world lost out.

Yep.

Last night was such a roller coaster of emotions, I'm still messed up.

I vaguely remember them years ago but did not know much about them so I was curious after seeing this post. I can see why they are so important to Canadians as they relate so well. Glad I got to learn about Gord and watch him perform. Life can be so fragile.

Dont be sad that it is over. Be happy that it happened.
