As everyone knows there are differences between the Left and the Right and the inhabitants. In the base philosophies there are also differences when it comes to spending. My question is about the inhabitants which is:
How do you handle your personal finances or more specifically how do you handle your finances in the wise of income vs spending? No wrong answer, just wondering.

I like to have fun, you only live once, I spend on family, cars, boats amusement, travel. But I own more than owe, so I have no credit or debt problems. It bores me to save for later, later might not come.

I prefer to spend in the same way as the example my government sets for me. I open all the credit card accounts I possibly can and max all of them out on hookers and blow.

I have no credit card, only a debit card against my checking account. I do have a mortgage against my house ( about 10% of the value of the property ) but have enough in shares to pay it off. If we really want something we buy it. We hate debt but sometimes it's the smart thing to do, 0% deals etc....

If the shit hits the fan we can afford to buy a new fan. Wink

Cash provides security and peace of mind. The more of it I have the better I feel.

I was lucky long ago to figure out that buying things didnt bring me happiness. I have fallen into a trend where i spend about the same amount of money every year no matter what i make and its almost always below what i actually make. On the years I make more income, I save more.

Works for me.

I only ever owe the current months utilities and my CC payment which Ive paid in Full every month of my life. The idea of owing is almost as scary to me as is paying interest.

I'm so fiscally conservative that when I opened my corporate account here a few years ago, the bank manager was shocked when my credit check came back blank. I just don't borrow money as a rule, except for the renovations I'm having done on the new home. I figure I can borrow a little for the renos since I paid cash for the house.

I will gladly go without until I can afford something rather than buy what I want now and try and pay it off later.
