I keep getting a pop up from winspyware saying something is affecting my laptop, anyone use this? any good free ones? Thanks.

Avast and/or Adaware..

Try Spoybot Search and Destroy and once you update it, be sure to immunize the system, then let it do a scan.

btw: another advantage of using Firefox as your browser is that it is quite a bit safer and you will pick up a lot less bugs
