What is your guys' take on it? I suggest you watch Pandora's Promise. I feel if every country used nuclear power, we could slow or even stop global warming. Also, if we use a breeder reactor, the bi-product from the reactor can fuel it so it's literally a never ending fuel source.
I agree it should be used instead of things like coal power plants tho,

Keeps getting thrown out / voted down.
Like you said basically " Last minute and only when backed into a corner " does it even get any attention or concern.
Watching it now... procrastinating...
So yeah, this is unfortunately what our world has evolved into.

-Chernoble/Fukashima type screwups.
-nobody wants to store the waste
-You have to mine Uranium just like you have to dig around for coal/natural gas
-vulnerable to being a terrorist target
But I like Nuclear. Makes a whole lot of power and doesnt take up much space like those stupid windmills that are all over the place up here.
Pit Row
I have written a number of papers on atomic energy policy, I'm fascinated by it. I'll have to check out that video.

Is that really so bad?
Whether you're an ecofreak or a hardcore right winger like me, this is good news.
For the Ecofreak: less greenhouse gases
For the money-hungry business types like me: cheap energy equals economic growth
If you don't want to use the byproducts of a reactor to make weapons, you can create a very safe reactor.
One of the founders of greenpeace (he's not a fan of the current organization) is an advocate of nuclear power. As are many other save the planet type groups. It's a very clean energy source, but has been mishandled because of nations wanting to make weapons from their reactors rather than find the safest way to generate power with nuclear energy.
energy what it took to make them. Anybody else read that?
