Specialized makes nice stuff.

I was cleaning my Specialized mountain bike the other day, taking pride in the fact that I had dropped the extra bucks for a fine American product when I stumbled across a small sticker on the seat post part of the frame that said “Made in China.”

High'r end rode bikes don't come with pedals LB. You have to pick them out separate, and they put them on at the shop. I got Shimano 105 pedals to match the rest of the components.

Yep,made in the same factory in China,as five or so other bike brands are. Branded just like all the Fox,Thor, or
whatever helmets are. Just built to the specific brands specs.

I was proud to buy my Rocky Mountain, it say's " Built in Canada" on the frame, of course the guy told me all the new ones are made in China and assembled in Canada. Can't we build good shit in North America?

Beautiful bike Butch! Do you know if those bikes work for guys that weigh 250 lbs. ?

Yea that's funny. I did a job at a high end bicycle shop the other day and they had just gotten in a new shipment of Specialized bikes and I noticed on the boxes is said "Made in China" . Who knew.

You could spend a few hundred or more LB. The shimano 105 pedals I got were a little over a hundred bucks. The bike just how you see it , lists for $2750. I got $250 off that....but, by the time I got bottles, cages, pedals and a wireless computer, I was back up over $2800. Really not that much, compaired to a dirt bike, but still it's only a bike. I do ride alot though! My wife thinks I'm crazy.....paying that much for a bicycle!Smile

Thanks Fiber. To be honest , I don't know. I have seen some big guys out there riding, but I never payed any attention as to what they were riding.

Nice ride, that is EXACTLY what I want (except with the Rival groupo). I've got a 05' Allez right now. Decent bike, but it hammers this 48 year-old body on long rides. Congrats!

My Intense was hand made in Temecula. By Mexicans, probably, but highly skilled Mexicans so I'm cool with that.

nice ride for sure. I have a 2010 Felt I picked up used from our local shop.
50% off the retail price of $1,700. It only had just over 100 miles on it too. Lucked out finding this gem.

Raced my second triathlon this past sunday and the bike was my favorite part. It was at the race where I realized how slow I am. my avg speed was 17mph. The top 10 in my age group where 19-20mph. Big difference.

you'll love that new bike!

Thanks Doc, my other bike is a 2011 Secteur Elite. It's the same exact frame geometry as the Roubaix, but it's aluminum frame beat me to death on rides over 75 miles. I'm 52 and it was really taking the joy out of long rides. That's why I bought the Roubaix. The Secteur has Sram apex doulble tap set up and I really like. I wanted to ride the Roubaix Rival but non of the but none of the local shops had any to test ride.

Dude, 17mph average is great average speed, for your first couple times out! You're a beast. Felts are nice machines. In July I'm doing the Seattle to Portland ride in one day......205 miles. I've been training my ass off, I've lost 19 pounds and only have 8 more to go.Smile

Sweet bike, I'm more of a MTB person but have been down the Road bike road, lol. Now I just couldn't get myself to wear a lycra onesy. My perception of the Road bike people changed a little after catching some footage of a race while waiting for the Hangtown moto's. Those fools were running next to the riders in some crazy tight ass outfits, kinda creepy. Running on asphalt with clip ons is asking for some road rash.

That race was the tour of California.
I watched the Mount Baldy stage(Up the road from my place), Those guys were using the big ring on the switchbacks near the top!
I have ridden that road and I can tell you I keep looking for a lower gear the whole time.
78 miles in under four hours..Those Tour riders are Gnarly!

I'm down 30 myself. Still have about 30 more to go though! Sad I get 1HP on the track back for every 7 pounds I lose. Smile My boy is on the verge of kicking my ass on the track and I have to do everything possible to stretch that out as long as I can. Smile Keep it up!
