Ahahaha its great I can't wait to get to work and give my Dodger fan coworker shit. He was dreading this trade, Manny's skills are in decline but his bullshit is increasing.

It'll be interesting to see how he fits in with Mr. Personality, Jeff Kent....

I am mostly glad because we don't have to face him anymore...as wacky as he is off the field, and as much of an adventure he is on defense, he is still a dangerous hitter - especially in the clutch.

Mixed feelings. I am grateful for what he did while he was in Boston but it was time to move on. I hope he does well in LA but I don't see him getting his $100M. His best days are behind him.

Sox season was headed down the crapper since the all star game with Manny so I don't expect they will even make the playoffs this year now. They should have traded some pitchers.

He was a threat and is a threat but now if he bats he fields no more dh and with thier 3rd baseman the dodgers now have a weaker left side defensively.

I can't believe how there has been little talk of Griffey to the Sox, IMO he is one of the class guys out there and a hell of a player. I hope it is what it takes to get us another title.

Griffey's a huge talent, but I wonder really how much passion he has left for the game.

he wasn't a DH in Boston.

I know he wasn't but it was an option its not now. He is a liability defensively and now he will have to play to bat. The offensive rewards could out weigh the defensive weakness we will see I still see AZ winning the division.

When ortiz wasnt playing manny did bat DH quite a bit , they just moved over Jacobe and played coco crisp in center.....The redsox still have a solid bunch of hitters in the lineup...It looks like they are going to have a tough time beating Anehiem if both teams get to the playoffs lol

He can swing the bat there is no denying that. I would like to hear the conversation between him and JeffKent the first time he doesn't run out a ground ball. They timed him on Baseball Tonight and it took him over five seconds to get to first, thats an eternity in baseball.

And that was in the game when John Lackey's no-hit bid was still intact...I was watching the mlb broadcast online (BoSox announcers) and they replayed it over and over - they were all over him for it.
