Jackson admits stealing $750K of federal campaign money for personal use.

That Washington DC sounds like a fun place for these 'greats' in power.

Most people that have owned their own business have probably charged a few things to it that they weren't supposed to, $40,000 for a Rolex is pretty bad though.

I'd imagine the better you get at that unethical behavior, the more money you can make in the U.S. If you get good enough, you can work your way into our capitol. Tells ya a bit about what our country's about, doesn't it?

Maybe so, but people who own their own business and get creative with write off's and such is very different from spending campaign contributions donated by others on luxury items.

At least he sacked up, admitted guilt and waived his right to a trial.

I seriously doubt that's all there is. I wouldn't be surprised there are a few more skeleton's in the closet. He's probably more than happy to sacrifice one small one than expose them all. It amazes me how easily these things are accepted and let go. Heck, from back in the Reagan days of Iran-Contra, it seems like these guys simply walk away with a smile. Or, remember that Marion Barry smoking crack with a prostitute, then he gets re-elected? Fuggin' amazing.

That D.C. is one nasty place.

jtom, you are probably correct about there being more to come from this ass clown.

I spent a few days in DC about 10 years ago on business, and I recall DC being the most ghetto ass city I have ever visited.

LOL...yeah, surprised they're not here to set us straight. But, it has nothing to do with race. It just caught my eye because of his (dad's) name and yet another DC'er stealing from the system. I guess I shouldn't bitch about $750K. Every day the federal government operates, I'm sure it's ripping us off for way more than that.

Just a quick scan of "corrupt American politicians" on Wikipedia revealed to me that this guy is just one of a huge number of crooks, of both political persuasions.

Sadly his crime is nothing special. His admission of guilt seems to be, though.

Question is, will Obama repeat Bush's 'treatment' of Scooter Libby? Wink

Seems like many Presidents, on their way out, pardon a bunch of crooks (or commute sentence, in this case). They sure know how to massage each others' privates, don't they?

All presidents pardon in their last term for large donations to this and that although they say it's out of the kindness of their heart.
