My parents own a house on 6 acres and they do allot of yard work there. They are looking at getting a gold cart to drive around and was wondering if anyone had some experience with them. A friend of mine who works at a marina was given an electric golf cart and he said that it still cost them ~$2k for batteries and charger to get it running. It's going to be kept in PA and it can get into the teens in temp in the winter. Does anyone have an opionion of gas vs electric? Any ideas where to find one? Golf courses are the obvious choice but most of them seemed pretty beat up by the time they get rid of them.
The Golf cart doesn't have much torqe. It's cool to just drive around for fun but not very usefull for yard tasks.
If they go for the cart, get a gas engine. WAAAYYYY more reliable.
Seriously, try and find a Mule. You can pull a small trailer with it and the ride is much better.
I actually pull my 16' double axel trailer with 100 bales of hay on it.
How much does a bale weigh? 60-70 pounds?
I have also hauled 25 people on a hay ride too... Those little suckers will pull and pull!!!
The Shop
Luxon 4-Post Bar Mounts
$189.95 - $239.95
DeCal Works Huge Plastic Inventory of UFO and Polisport kits.
I've been looking at getting my Ol' lady a 4-wheeler for our crick rides, but if a mule will go through the slop, I'd rather have one of those.
Then I can play on it...... I mean use it around the shop.
Artic Cat, Polaris, Yamaha all would be better suited for play riding.
Seem to be very reliable.
Hell, I mounted a 2x6 on the front and it will push start a sprint car.
Never said a thing about that lil truck. Looks cool, too.
Now A/C would be good on hot nights at the dirt track, no doubt !
Actually, I would have definitely bought one of those "little trucks" if they were around as much as they are now. I got my mule in 2003. Those trucks didn't start popping up until 2005 around here.
Believe me, I would have money in the bank if I had got one of those instead of the Mule!
Mine is the 3010...
