Yep watch out for that veil when it drops, it could drop on your head if I had the time to CNP all the right wing dingbats making wild statements, or getting caught with whores, or maybe picking up men in bathroom stalls, How bout a clip saying members of congress need to be investigating for being Un-American?

Both sides have their batshit crazies.

We should've nationalized the oil industry. They were screwing us (and still are, just not to such an extreme).

That's the government's job, to take care of the people, not to take care of giant corporate conglomerates.

Its interesting that we already are regulating other forms of energy and such (PUC) but with dino-juice we let Big Oil bend us over and go to town.

We should've nationalized oil as soon as OPEC formed.

They deregulated natural gas here in Georgia about 5 years ago and the price has almost tripled since then.

and to quantify the true impact of these price variances … do you have the rates on deflation / inflation for all the ancillary expenses to bring this product to the consumer … including all relevant changes in taxation that may be effecting the products end cost to the consumer

or is this just a shot from the hip ??

Yes.

We the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare, and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.

Domestic tranquility (make sure the people are happy).

General welfare (make sure the people are taken care of).

That's right in the preamble of the Constitution.

And the rules it sets up afterward, for taxation, establishing rules of law, are for the purpose as put together in the Preamble, just as it says. "In order to do this, we have made this Constitution with these rules."

If you don't like it, move to Mexico. They don't have a Constitution like this.

Steve,

Even though you and I don't always agree, you are spot on this deal. I don't believe it's the governments job to "take care of us" but I do think it's the governments job to see to it that large corporations like big oil don't bend us over and drive it home. Some things like oil, natural gas and medical care have no true market because they are things that each and every one of us can't do with out.

I am not of the opinion that government needs to stay out of our lives. I am of the opinion that I pay for those government services and I want them to do a better job at looking out for the best interest of it's citizens.
