Do any of you guys use compression socks either during activity or for recovery? If so what brand? I have been looking at them but I'd like to hear from a real person with real world experience with them. I broke my ankle and foot pretty bad a few years ago and it kills after a run so I'm hoping maybe these will help with that. Thanks.

I started wearing Injinji 5 toe socks to run and they made my feet feel so good I started wearing them for regular daily use. Not sure how they work; they just do. They make compression socks too but I haven't tried them. If I wanted some I would stick with them as the quality is great.

Dude, stop running and start cycling! Lot more fun and no pain! That's what I did!

I agree on that - but I like triathlons and running is part of the game
5 weeks into my training for the spring season and my knee is absolutely killing me. It's cut back my run training drastically and increased my bike riding to make up the difference. I love the bike! but be prepared to dish out some cash. Even starter bikes aren't cheap.
considering compression socks, but I read mixed reviews on if they actually do any good. Sometimes the placebo effect is powerful.

compression will help your knee I'd bet. Just a cheap sleeve at night to get rid of inflammation will do a ton of good.

Do you have chronic issues or specific injuries? If it's chronic issues there are lots of things that can help if you haven't tried them including exercises, stretches, and different sleeves or braces.

IT band, pretty common. I use a rolling pin and every stretch you can imagine. I have a new knee brace I'll try tomorrow for a short 1 mile easy run after my 20 mile bike. Funny, I bike pain free Well....my ass might disagree with that.....

Thank you so much! I just clicked that link. I used your credit card number and it went through. I bought 100 pairs of these nifty Spamulus Sox. Thanks for your donation to my health and well-being!

I ruptured my achilles in March and have been wearing the ones from Walmart for a couple months now. something like $10 for four of them. they make a huge difference in how much my foot/ankle/calf swell up, without them it gets huge, even two and a half months post surgery. my toes still swell the most but they seem to slowly be getting better. I wear a size 9 1/2 or 10 shoe and tried the large/X-large at first then bought a pair of the small/med. small/med is a big pain to get on but do a better job for me. ice and elevation at night helps a lot too.

Edit: damn, just noticed this is a six year old post that got spammed back to the top
