Just heard that Obama supporters have been instructed to text message this number as a means of "data mining" that will be potentially used to remind voters to vote in November. Got to hand it to Obama and his campain. That is a pretty wise idea.

They're using the venue for tonight's speech as a giant volunteer and get out the vote rally.


They have phone banks there, they're passing out postcards to mail, asking people to text friends while they're there and more...

Also, while tickets were free to anyone, they did ask that you volunteer a minimum of 6 hours in exchange

LOL! That's funny. Sell something for free when really you have to work for it. Why can't it just be, "Tickets cost six hours of volunteering." Man are we messed up.

Is this kind of like holding a "free car" wash and holding up a huge sign that says "donations accepted?" It's only free if you want to fee guilty and look like a chump.

My sister in law donated money to Obama before and she got a call saying that if she would donate $25 more she could be on the list of people that recieved the text message on his VP nomination. She's a big supporter of his but told them she could wait the extra 30 seconds till it was on the news.
