I recently bought a 2001 KX250 for $1900. The clutch needs to be replaced and probably a top end rebuild. However both of those together is only like $250, aside from labor. Clutches are easy enough to install however I'm not taking apart the top end.
So the bike has a 2006 motor in it and it runs fairly decent, however I can tell the compression isn't up to snuff.
Aftermarket stuffs:
- Excel Takasago Rims and Spokes
- Pirelli Scorpion Tires (pretty much brand new, front and rear still have the chalk mark on them)
- REP Forks
- REP Top End
- Pro Circuit R304 + Pro Circuit Pipe
- Alltrac 2 seat
- Troylee Plastics
Plastics are a little scuffed up, but I'm sure I can get out the majority of the scratches with some fine buffing compound and wax to make it pretty.
