I honestly think he just gets nervous when he's being interviewed and it comes out more. I know that when I have to speak in front of a group I start start saying "uh" wayyyyy more than I do when I'm just having a normal conversation.

I think it's a bit of Minnesota in him, don't you know.

But he has picked up a bit of twang since he moved down south.

I agree. He does have the Minnesota accent, but it has become a bit more twangy lately.

As for sounding like Ricky, I don't think it's on purpose. When you spend a lot of time with people you tend to pick up on their speech patterns without realizing it.
