IRVINE, Calif. (March 3, 2007) – Kawasaki Motors Corp., U.S.A., announced that Ryan Villopoto has signed a one-year extension to remain with Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki through the 2008 season.
Villopoto will return to the Amp’d Mobile AMA Supercross Lites Series, where he recently won the Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites Championship aboard a Kawasaki KX™250F.
“I am very happy with the team and the bike,” he said. “We’ve been talking to Kawasaki for the last year. I really didn’t want to leave. It’s been awesome.”
Villopoto is one of the hottest stars in the sport and has a very bright future, something Monster Energy Kawasaki team manager Mike Fisher sees as a winning combination.
“Villopoto continues to be a perfect fit for the team,” said Fisher. “It’s hard not to get caught up in the fame and glamour of being a champion, but Ryan surrounds himself with great people who help keep him grounded. At only 18-years old, Ryan is consistently elevating his program every week.”
Villopoto’s agent, Bobby Nichols added, “Ryan continues to develop into one of the sports premier riders under the guidance of Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki’s Mitch Payton.”
A year ago, Villopoto was named the AMA Rookie of the Year and won the Toyota AMA Motocross Lites Championship.
Dave, get out and exercise a little and maybe your panties will unfold a tad.
