I've been noticing that this year the track prep looks alot different than in years past. Do you guys think that is because of MX Sports new vision of how a national should look? The dirt just doesnt look as loamy as it used to to me. The racing has been awesome, seems like theyre going faster this year because of the lack of deep loam. Also, at Budds, behind the gate seemed kinda blank. I just think it looks different. There are definately options in corners, but not like it used to be. Your thoughts?

Looks like its been good to me. Doesn't appear to be groomed as often, things have been getting really rough for the 2nd motos.

I noticed that the Budds creek track was nearly the identical one they ran at the MXDN in 2007. I hope they rip Red Bud up nice and deep like they do every year so we can have a abundance of waist deep ruts!

We are always trying to find the right balance between safe, rough, dust-free and competitive. John Ayers spent 90 minutes with both Chad Reed AND Mike Alessi in his mule on Friday going around to get ideas and opinions. I spoke to Ben Townley today for half an hour about some ideas and concerns he had, and he's meeting up with Mark Barnett and Ayers on Friday at Thunder Valley. In Texas I went to Ben, Chad and Christophe and Weimer after practice for ideas.

Point is, we are asking as many riders as we can for input and ideas. They are the ones out there racing for us, and they have to be comfortable and safe. They all have a different opinion but they all seem to like the balance we've found so far. It will be an ongoing conversation between the tracks, the riders and series organizer.

I thought they've all been good so far. Definitely rough! There have been a couple times where a section got dangerous due to ruts or something and they took care of them in between motos.

The track looked 100% better than the hard-packed dust bowl it was for the national in '07. I remember RC calling out the organizers to have the track deep and rough for the MXdN later on in the year.
