im sitting here watching the mxon torrents on my tv and i noticed 1 thing that seriously bugs the shit out of me. where the fuck is all the sound? i dont really even care for 4 strokes but if im watching mx/sx i want to hear the bikes...

i hear the announcers in the booth, i hear the announcer on the track, and in comparison the sound of the bikes seems like they're on @ 10%.

you watch: football, baseball, basketball, AMA supercross or nationals and you hear pretty much everything from yells and screams during sporting events, to a guy panic revving thats not even in the field of view during sx/mx

i just couldnt get excited during the mxon (fell asleep on the couch during mx2+mx3...) and now watching it again, because i had missed it, i realize why, it was like watching a radio talk show

is this normal for the GP events/series across the water? i dont remember what last years was like. i watched some on youtube (emx 125) and they replicate the video/sound quality of the AMA events.

Maybe the wind was messing with the mics. Major thanks to whomever got 3 hours of coverage on a Sunday in the U.S.

I was bitching about that all day during the race, but more importantly the camera placement, MX from SKY HIGH looks like crap! ...and 90% of those cameras were on a beam looking down.

They have always been poor with their sound. They do announcing in the foreground and everything else background. Even the onboard cams are like that. But if you noticed you could also hear the track announcer so the bikes were not that loud to begin with. You certainly don't want to be listening to German over a loudspeaker and Malin's English simultaneously. They need to do better at getting mics closer to the track.

yea, i noticed that about the on board cameras as well, and you are right, i did not even think about the German guy on the loudspeaker

My guess to the sound would be the constant air horns. They're cool to hear in the beginning, but after 35 mins of hearing a bunch of drunks blip an air horn. They lose the excitement effect and become really annoying.
