So, I am leaving Los Angeles for a corporate job in Dallas, TX. My wife and I will be moving to Frisco, TX. I know Freestone is about 2 hours from there, but what tracks are around the area within 1-2 hours?
It's hard to find time to ride now here because my current job isn't M-F. My new one will be. Help-a-brotha-out.

@skidsteer16, way to stay on topic. And I think hip hop from the last 12 years has been retarded... it must be why I think Stroupe's tweets are retarded.
The Shop
As many have said, txmotocross.com is a good source of info.

..all within easy driving distance. Several of those facilities have different tracks for things like GP and vintage as well. North texas is moto rich. Welcome to Tejas.
Three Palms down in Houston is good if you don't mind riding an amazing track 3 hours away.
Me and friends try and make a trip down there every month or two.
Vaughn's (Crossings MX) was my "baby" growing up and that's where I got my start building tracks. I started riding and working there in 2001 when I was 15 and did all his track work until he closed it about four years ago and subdivided the back part of the property into a neighborhood. The timing for that couldn't have been worse as I think only 2-3 homes have been built.
Anyway, the track never really made money so I don't blame him for shutting it down. It was a huge cash drain. In my younger years I did a lot of work for free to keep things going as it was like a second home to me. As I'm sure you experienced, some days the track was pretty dialed and it was a whole lot of fun to ride. At other times we just couldn't stay on top of it with the limited manpower/funds and it was a hard packed dusty mess. We had a really hard base (silty clay) to work with so it took quite a bit of time on the equipment and it had to be watered just right for it to be "really good".
A few years ago I had a hard drive crash that had all my "memories" from there on it and I didn't have it backed up.
I had some really cool stuff on there like a helicopter photo/video promotional shoot we did with Geddy and Freddy Karrle, Travis and Shane Sewell, Brad Ripple, and myself trying to stay in the frame.
Sorry for the long story, this one hits close to home, I grew up with a track 5 minutes from my house and now the closest track is 30 minutes+.
Anyway, here's the tracks in 2003...
Snow covered in 2005, after we added an SX track and right before the main track was reversed.
And here it is today...
Sorry to hijack the thread Tanner, hope you got some good answers to your question.
Thanks for the info guys. When I get settled in, maybe I will hit you guys up when I head out to a track for the first time.
