Aren't those pics quite old? I thought I saw those late last year and was hoping to get some more recent info on the 2017 300XC... Keep waiting I guess....

I find it funny how the article is titled "Is this the KTM EXC they don't want you to see", yet the photos are from one of the biggest, most popular off-road races in the world. Little exaggerated maybe? Just a bit?


Looks like a fun bike though. A lighter version of the 300 would be a blast.

I saw searching a few weeks ago and found an comment on KTM's blog. Explains why the 250sx wasn't updated in 16 glad KTM decided to wait.


"Dear Brett,
Our 250cc 2-stroke engine is currently the most modern KTM engine in its class, but we could not develop new engines for each model at the same time. With the experience of the other new bikes we could clearly see when making a new motorcycle you need to develop both at the same time chassis and engine. We did not want to make any compromise implementing an old existing engine into a new chassis. Therefore we left the 250 SX on the old platform.
