It kind of looks like it. You figure the logos would be on top so they would be seen above the waist of the riders pants.

After zooming in it looks like an old Hallman logo, it is right side up on the gloves and appears to be upside down on the belt.

This might be a stupid question, but is he related to RJ?
I thought there was some car racer with the last name Johnson that was somehow related to RJ.

MT MX - There are many MXers that cut their competitive teeth in MX then have gone on to stardom in NASCAR......Jimmy Johnson is just one of them racing today.

They are not related.

"From motorcycles, Johnson graduated to the Mickey Thompson Entertainment Group (MTEG) Stadium Racing Series where he won more awards. A 1993 meeting arranged by his mentor, supercross champion Rick Johnson (no relation), proved fortuitous for the eager driver.

While racing at the Los Angeles Coliseum, Rick Johnson introduced his young protégé to the Executive Director of GM Racing, Herb Fishel. The protégé lived up to his billing, impressing Fishel with his driving ability and business acumen."
