Inflatable Tough blocks

Noticed the tough blocks at the Paris SX are inflatable, are these new, or have I just not noticed them before? Seems like it would be a lot easier to transport these from sx to sx, are they safer? Whats the story?

Not new. My guess is they're probably cheaper and easier to store.

If I'm not mistaken, it takes a semi trailer just to transport the tuff blocks. Might even be two.
