Holeshot device question?

So i've noticed that alot of people have their button for the holeshot device mounted pretty far down on the forkguard especially the pro guys and I was just wondering how you compress your forks that far to lock it in?

I have mine down 5.5" from the top of the Fork Guard. Same thing that Jeremy Said 2 people.

Yeah I bought Lowell Spanglers old kawi and its mounted down pretty far its a pain to get the thing locked in lol
