*I am writing this for Kat. She has lost a decent amount of motor skill so this is an interpretation of her letter to us. She is definitely one tough cookie, I must say!
On Feb. 20, Kat thought she had had a stroke. She went in to the Dr. in Costa Rica to have an MRI. It showed two brain tumors, one on each side of her brain. They wanted to fit her with a chemo mask, however one of the tumors is just too large for this procedure and it showed it was too large for surgery. So Greg decided last week to bring Kat back on Sat. to Dallas, TX.
This week, Kat and Greg have been to Oncologist's, and she has had another MRI. The American MRI has better news on one front, but not on another. The not so good front is that the smaller tumor is just packed with cancer cells, and it offers more to be concerned about than the larger tumor. The good news is that, in fact, they will be able to operate to help try and remove the pressure on her brain. She goes into surgery at 5:15 am Saturday 3 -1 - 2008, tomorrow morning. If all goes as planned, she will then have chemo for the next 4 weeks.
I know this is scaring the heck out of her, so if you would say a prayer to get her out of surgery, it would really be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Sherri Hultner
