Has anybody used one of these or have information on them?

Looks easy enough to build your own, but who knows maybe there is more engineering involved than meets the eye.

A home built one would still do the trick I reckon, but the hole placement might give it that little bit extra

Yeah, those guys at FMF don't test anything. Just cut up an old beer can and put it in your intake tract. Should do the same thing.

People used to make their own "Powernow", which is a similar device, but it is used to limit the turbulence created by the throttle plate.

Hi Guys. Some one told me that there was this thread on here so I looked at it and joined just to share my experience with the snap. They straighten out the air flow delivery from the airbox, which is can be pretty turbulent. That increases the air velocity and reduces drag, all of which increases throttle response

This thing was brought to market by FMF simply because Don Emler was hugely impressed by it's effect on throttle response on a multitude of bikes...dyno & field tested & developed.

I just heard that Don Maeda at Transwold tried on his 2013 KX 450 at the track and loved it. Enough to where he was tweeting about it at the track. If you want to know what to really expect, expect and increase in pulling power every time you move the throttle between idle and 1/2 throttle. Since I ride the KTM EXC's on the street a lot as well, you really feel it when your just hanging behind some slow guy and then you can't take it anymore and you crack the throttle and go.

If this product makes such an improvement why wouldn't the carburetor companies put them in stock? Companies with years of experience in carbs should have already figured this out and put it on their products.

...the carbs are spec'd by the manufctr's..thats what they build...
