Others have posted this link to play online http://nintendo8.com/game/24/excitebike/ which made me wonder:

Is it possible to beat the game excitebike? I remember playing the last track over fifty times one night and finally decided to pause the game, go to bed and start again the next morning. I woke up the next morning to find the Nintendo turned off.

Also, what is the fastest time you have turned on the last track? It seems like a 1:00 was a pretty good time on the last track for me but one time I did a :90 or something like that. It has been a long time since I have played it though and do not have the time today, but have always wondered if there was an end to the game and just how fast you could go.

if you landed on your front tire and controlled it you would start building up spee with every jump. I remember going so fast on that game that I would jump off the screen and come up throught the bottom lol...Smile best game of all time

Yep..My friends and I had a no cheat policy and that move was obviously considered cheating.. We did it all the time anyways.

Wow......Ive played that gome a million times and didn't know you could go THAT fast....I understand the front wheel landing but it never seemed that effective enough to go that fast ill have to fire up the nintendo tonight and give it another shot.

Old School but felt damn lucky to have it when it came out. Building your own tracks was pretty sweet too.
