Some tidbits from his interview after Lierop on MX Large

"There is a double around the back and I wanted to do it but I caught my footpeg in the sand...the bike dipped, putting me straight into the ground. I don't know how I damaged my mouth. I think I must have gritted my teeth.

I was lucky that my dentist is a fan of motocross...I must thank him a lot because not many people would work as late as he did; I did not get to bed until 1.30.

(In moto one) I had another bad crash on the first corner when someone touched my rear wheel. In the second moto I was 15th on the first lap when the bike spun around and I couldn't catch it. I started last again. I think I will sleep for three days now."

His teeth got knocked out from gritting to hard? He stayed up all night getting mouth work done. He crashed in both moto's and still managed top 10's on arguably the roughest track on any pro calendar. He has earned every bit of that Teka Suzuki contract. That's a man who loves his job.

Ya we talked about him in an earlier thread over the weekend, Imagine eating all that sand with a tore up grill? he can be summed up in one word: "Core!"

Yeah there's very few pros (GP or AMA) that would of raced after what he went through. Not to mention the race was on one of the toughest tracks of the year. The guy is a beast and like scottie said "Core".

I think he did it just to keep second in the World standings. Philippaerts is just 21 points back now. Boy is hungry for success. Ryno was like that too. Southwick with a broken leg on a 125 is a miracle.
