Interesting list. Tyler Bowers listed as part of the Babbitts Monster Kawi team?! And Zach Osborne racing. A new KTM squad with some fast guys like Gavin Gracyk. And no ride for Brock Sellards? Seriously?! Reynard is back and probably because they are on 450s. He'll be tough.

and there's going to be a few other big names that will surprise you too.
Too bad it's not a points race, going to be like old times at DM next weekend.

Does anybody know how they are going to handle amateurs on the SX track at Sam Boyd in Vegas in May?

i assume they are cutting down the jumps for Ams? Just wondering if I should take out a life insurance policy if I qualify.

All Sunday AX races are Amateur Days.

Tracks are always way cut-down and the catapult is moved way closer, etc.

he means the season finale, top 5 riders in all regions are invited to race the vegas sx after the regular sx race goes off

Usually for the US Open they do a similar track to the Sunday AX tracks. Basically the whoops are smaller than braking bumps, 50s jump the catapult (seriously) and the rhythm section is two doubles you could do on a pit bike. However, it's a bit better at a "SX" venue because of more space, and it is way better than no riding at all in the winter.

I don't think you'll have to worry about it being crazy, unless a sunday AX is a bit much for you. It should actually be better since it won't be as tight.

You guys figured that out from where? Surely not the Arenacross.com website??
I have never been able to navigate that place...Laughing
They have misspelled the Central Regional Champion's name: Kurt McCabe so that gripes me, too!
McCabe is teaching a pre-AX school. See www.stormlakehonda.com for details. Should be cool.

from www.arenacross.com :

The 2010 season will qualify 420 of the best amateur riders in the nation to participate in the 10th annual Amateur National Arenacross Championships.

The top four riders from 21 different classes and five different regions will make their way to Las Vegas, NV May 9th, 2010 at Sam Boyd Stadium to race in the Amateur National Arenacross Championships the day following Monster Energy® Supercross Finals featuring Chad Reed, James Stewart and Ryan Villopoto.

All class champions will be recognized as an official AMA National Champion and awarded the ceremonial AMA National Champion Number One Plate. To recognize the 2010 AMA Amateur National Arenacross Champions, the AMA will host these distinguished racers from each class at its annual, year-end award ceremony.

The top eight finishing riders in the Expert Class will receive an AMA Supercross Lites endorsement. The AMA Supercross Lites class endorsement grants these riders the opportunity to compete in the 2011 Monster Energy® Supercross Lites Championship.

I think it would be crazy cool to race the Vegas track. I assume if they cut down the regular AX tracks, they will cut down this one, but I don't know if there are logistics involved.

I have a feeling I will find out if/when I show up in Vegas.
