I was reading an article about the BTO KTM's & I ran I to this...

"Follow Andrew Short’s 2013 season, and you’ll follow tales of industry doom and gloom right over to a true bright spot. While team shutdowns for L&Mc Racing and Kranyak Racing left Short short on rides twice already this year, the team he will race for beginning this weekend, BTOSports.com KTM, is on the upswing."

So, About Kranyak...I don't know the guy...but...when I got a little bit involved in getting a few Parts for "The Andrew"...well, I did my homework...including:

How many bikes does Andrew have?

How long is the Team (Mike) going racing?

Who's invoclved?

Answers:

Andrew had 2 bikes/1 for ridin' & 1 "Hangar-Queen"

Mike was in for "the West-Coast" thru San Diego. PERIOD. No Sponsors; yet, he was going to ride it out thru San Diego. As I understand it... "On his Own dime".

The afore-referenced article kinda left Kranyak in an undeserved "failure-mode".

He went racing & kept Andrew in the game when others DIDN'T.

Period.

I was actually surprised to see the Kranyak semi in Dallas, and thought that it might mean good things for the future with Andrew and the team. The move to BTO was a surprise for me.

Andrew seemed kinda "numb" post L&Mc melt-down.

I can't help knowing that his Family, Faith, Coach (Seiji-the Quiet Warrior), Friends & Un-Sung wonderful people from all corners of Moto...INCLUDING "Honda"...of all places...FY-F-I...Includng some "management-types"...got Andrew thru some very rough, trying & "life-changing" times.

Note: GOOD THINGS HAPPEN...& some of those things have "yet to happen".

I believe in Good people & Good Things...Yet to come!

He's my New "K-Dub".

Too be clear, that paragraph was Weege's opening paragraph of the article, and not the words of BTO Sports - KTM Team Manager, Forrest Butler.

I was surprised as well. I was standing outside their pits in Dallas looking at the truck with no sponsors, bike with minimal sponsors, and thinking to myself "what is Kranyak getting out of this." The only answer I could come up with was "nothing", which is incredibly cool on his part. I hope good things happen for that team.

I don't know of what type of support, but Kent Powersports by former baseball player Jeff Kent helped him there in the end also.

When I was crew chiefing stock cars, there were a lot of guys who did this type of thing. Some like the sport. Some like being in the scene. Some like the competition. Whatever the reason, it is cool that they do it. My hats off to Kranyack, Genova and anyone else putting their hard earned money into anything from charity to racing. You can't take it with you and too many die with a lump of cash that they never enjoyed on any level.

You can read about our team at www.rfmotorsportsusa.com . We are a privateer SX/MX team trying our best to make it in the big time on little to no budget but thanks to great sponsors we give it our best. We are always looking for that one guy that may be able to help us along to but they are hard to find.

It doesn't seem like a nice exit for Kranyak and his team, with two supercross CHAMPIONSHIPS in the recent past.

I feel like maybe they gave up a little too soon when the times got rough. There are a lot of talented and capable people involved in that team.

But with no support, and no return on investment, you can't blame Mike Kranyak one bit.

Too busy with his day to day effort and existing business, don't believe for a second he didn't try. He knew shorty was a good guy and a solid guy to keep out there, so he did it on his own dime to help and try to get something going. Didn't work out in a short amount of time and short got a solid ride and contract. Mission accomplished.

I'm really glad to see him land on his feet like this. I think with the current state of affairs in this sport, that it speaks volumes of his character to have so many people step up to help him when he needed it.
