I am looking into hoping off my 15 KX450F down to a KX250F. Main reasons being 1. I ride much less than i used to and the 450F wears me out after a couple motos 2. I am absolutley sick of these SFF TAC air fork.

I am looking at the leftover 18 KX250F prices drop below $6K, and they have me really close to pulling the trigger. My biggest concern is the SFF forks on the front of them. I don't want to hop on another bike that has me fighting the forks everytime i go out a ride (it takes the fun out of my weekends)

Anyone have some good insight if the 18 KX250 is worth it. My only thought the saving eh from buying a leftover are enought to put whatever forks i want on the front.

my son has one . its a great bike to ride . flatter and slimmer than pre 2017 models which weve had 3 of . the forks are valved softer this year but the shock isnt so the chopper effect is less . Good neutral turning well planted bike , more planted than my husky in the front . feels light on and off the stand (very light ) . some quality issues like previous years with chain sliders and clutch plates , grips . Engine is excellent , just a tad soft off idle but then strong and constant all the way . no real steps or hits so its very effective at getting traction and i find jumps less effort straight out of corners than i do on my husky which is pumped up and has a crazy top end . i wouldn't buy anything else at the price kawi are doing right now .

thanks for the input. I am leaning toward the leftover pretty hard. The only thing holding me up is the rumor that the 19 KX250F is going to have dual spring forks.

With the amount of effort being put into the 2019 450F, I would say updates to the 250F will be minimal for 2019 and maybe 2020 is the big year? Kind of like how the 2016 450F and 2017 250F were.

Of course this is strictly opinion as an industry outsider. Laughing

I would say that is a pretty good assumption. For the money saving of buy a leftover I will most likely be able to put whatever suspension i want on it and still be under the price tag of a 19
