So I'm working on my rebuilding my 99 rm125, and I want to powder coat my rims black. I was thinking thinking of trying to do it myself, or is it best to send it and get it professional done. Also where could I send it out to?

Chad at Eleven10 mods does it. He did my frame and has done rims/hubs/spokes before

Powder coat on wheels is not ideal. It's not durable enough. Have them anodized or buy new black ones.

I'd have them anodized.
Powdering can get you pretty good results, and when applied right it will holdup well.
Usually when I powder aluminum I'll bake the part first so it can "outgas" or bring the gasses and oils to the surface, then blast then bake and bam u got some fresh looking parts.
I've done a few parts this way with great results. No bike rims but probably 5 sets of hubs, silencer, skid plate. No pro by any means but am happy with the results and after seeing what a buddy got done locally I'm more than happy with results.
Good luck whatever route you decide to go.

I got my rims and hubs powdered.

Has held up pretty good but chips off pretty easily mounting tires - use lots of soap and water and be patient, could argue that it makes you a better/cleaner tire changer Wink
