Fly Racing has been pushing forward and making a name for itself in the gear market since 1998. With over 25 years of experience and knowledge, they have become synonymous with style and quality. They are considered one of the top-tier gear companies in the industry because they are constantly adding innovation to their product line. A few examples are introducing the BOA closure system to their pant line in 2016, the Formula helmet with Rheon in 2019, and the Fly Zone goggle line in 2021. Recently, Fly sent us a set of their 2025 Zone Elite goggles to try. The Zone Elite is Fly's top-tier goggle, so scroll down for our thoughts below.

First Impressions
As I removed the Fly Racing Zone Elite goggles from their box, I thought, "These look rad!" The Pink/Yellow/Purple colorway they sent is super cool. I love the mirrored lens look, and the purple stands out. I liked the body lines of the frame design because they aren't one smooth line. They are jagged and look sharp. The strap on this particular model also stood out with its vertical lines and bright colors. It's a very appealing goggle aesthetically.
Clearly, the looks of a goggle aren't the primary concern. It needs to function under race conditions. The foam should keep sweat out of your eyes, a large peripheral range of vision is optimal, and it should fit comfortably. Upon first inspection, the foam looked adequate, and the range of vision appeared to be good. The Zone Elite also comes with a removable nose guard. I never remove a nose guard from my goggles, but I know many riders do, so this is a good option.
A feature that has become popular recently is the quick-change lens. Changing a lens on a 'traditional' goggle could be a pain in the ass, and I love how easy manufacturers have made changing a lens. The Zone Elite goggles are no different. I noticed it didn't have a quick-release latch on the sides like other goggles, but the injection molded polycarbonate lens pops out and back in easily. Now it's time to get out on the track and put these to the test.
On the Track
Let's start with fitment inside a helmet. I've worn the Zone Elite goggles many times with a few different helmets, including a Fly Formula, 6D ATR3, and Fox V3. In all cases, the goggles fit snugly with no concerns. As stated above, I left the nose guard on, which can be a bit tight with some goggles.
The frame's flexibility allowed the goggles to contour to my face nicely and the foam created a good seal. The shape of the nose area wasn't uncomfortable at any point while wearing them, which can be a problem with other goggles. The wide field of vision was a plus. It's very similar to the EKS Brand Lucid goggles I wear regularly. The lens has a high clarity level, creating optimal vision when riding. I will note that Fly didn't send me any tear-offs, so I can't comment on the clarity once you stack a bunch. So, I just ducked my head and wiped with my glove when needed.
Although I didn't apply tear-offs, I still took plenty of roost when wearing the Zone Elite goggles, and I never had dirt find its way inside. Sweat is another concern for us as riders, and I haven't got any in my eyes while wearing these goggles. That is a testament to the quality of the foam and seal created. Also, the ventilation of the goggles worked well. I haven't had any fogging when riding in cooler weather or high humidity.
Durability
I have worn the Fly Racing Zone Elite goggles 10-15 times over the last few months, and they have held up well. The foam is holding up nicely and the strap hasn't stretched out. Granted, I need more time to truly say how durable they are. Like most gear, if you take care of it, it should last long enough to get your money's worth. I also always suggest leaving one tear-off on to extend the life of your lens. It helps it from getting scratched and needing to be replaced.
Final Thoughts
I liked the performance and appearance of these goggles. I will keep them in my goggle bag and continue to choose them when I want this colorway with my gear choice. I need to get some tear-offs, which will make me more likely to wear them and improve the lens's lifespan. The $129.95 price tag may seem a little steep to some, but that is the going price for high-end goggles with an injection molded lens. Overall, the Zone Elite goggle is a good choice when shopping for a new set.
