Top 10: St. Louis

Round 12 of the 2014 Monster Energy Supercross series rocked the Edward Jones dome in St. Louis, and here's your rundown on the Top 10 in each class.

Mike Alessi (Smartop MotoConcepts Racing) grabbed the holeshot in the 450 main event, but Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki) quickly took over the lead.

10. Justin Brayton (Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX) broke his foot during the heat race, and still won it. He left his boot on and just elevated it before the main, and was running sixth until he ran into Ryan Dungey's downed bike on the last lap.

9. Ryan Dungey (Red Bull KTM) was headed for a much better finish, but a crash on the last lap dropped him from fifth to ninth. He's still second in the 450 class standings, but only by a single point over James Stewart.

8. Andrew Short (BTO Sports/KTM) and Josh Hill battled a bit, and this time Josh won out. Credit Shorty with the eighth this time around.

7. Josh Hill (RCH Racing Soaring Eagle) grabbed the seventh in St. Louis. He's the lone soldier in the rig at the moment.

6. It was good to see Eli Tomac (GEICO Honda) back in action here, and he turned in a solid sixth-place finish here.

5. Trey Canard (Team Honda Muscle Milk) was another rider returning from the sidelines, though this was also his first Supercross race of the 2014 season. He got a little help in the final standings after some riders went down in front of him, but he'll take the fifth.

4. Ken Roczen (Red Bull KTM) missed out on a podium this week, but he matched his series standing with a fourth.

3. Justin Barcia (Team Honda Muscle Milk) was on the podium for the second straight week.

2. Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki) led the first half of the main event, but was chased down by James Stewart. He does also have a rather sizable points lead, and can afford to give up some points. He padded his lead over Ryan Dungey to 35, though Stewart is now only a single point behind Dungey in the standings.

1. James Stewart was the big winner in St. Louis, and that was his second straight win, and 50th to date. He's on a roll right now.

Now that we're done there, let's dive into the 250 class.

250 East series points leader, Martin Davalos (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki), grabbed the holeshot to start the main.

10. Gannon Audette (Legends & Heroes) had his best race of the season so far, and made his first appearance in the Top 10.

9. Alex Martin (CycleTrader.com/Rock River/Yamaha) finished in the upper half of the field again, and he's also in the top ten in the 250 East point standings.

8. Jimmy DeCotis had another solid run, and was eighth this week.

7. Matt Bisceglia (GEICO Honda) looked like he might end up on the podium for a bit, as he moved up to third, but he eventually dropped to seventh.

6. Cole Thompson (Rockstar Energy Racing KTM) nearly matched his finish from last weekend, but this time around he was sixth.

5. AJ Catanzaro put his Factory MetalWorks Honda into the top five in St. Louis. Nicely done!

4. Kyle Cunningham (Smartop MotoConcepts Racing) was near mid-pack at the start, but moved all the way up to fourth by the finish.

3. Blake Baggett (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) rebounded from a tough crash and DNF last week, and charged from a bad start to a podium appearance.

2. Justin Bogle (GEICO Honda) looked like he had the speed over Martin Davalos, but lappers didn't help him out, and while he kept the pressure on, and looked like he might catch Davalos at the end, he settled for a second.

1. Martin Davalos (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) hung tough out front all night, holding off Justin Bogle for another win as the 250 East riders go on break for a month before their next (and next-to-last) round in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Martin now has an eight-point lead over Bogle.
