Top 10: Detroit 2

Let's run through the Top 10 in each class from Detroit, starting with the 450s. It was the first time back to Ford Field in several years, and it was cool to see the track run up into the stands (a nod to the old Pontiac Silverdome race), but the riders described this one as difficult with a very slippery track.

Cole Seely (Troy Lee Designs/Lucas Oil/Honda, on board Trey Canard's Team Honda Muscle Milk CRF450) grabbed the holeshot and led the first lap and most of the second before James Stewart muscled his way by.

1. James Stewart (Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing) had a clean, comfortable race, though Ryan Villopoto did close up on him at the end. This win tied James with Ricky Carmichael for second on the all-time Supercross win list, with 48.

2. Though Ryan Villopoto (Monster Energy Kawasaki) finished second, he extended his points lead Ryan Dungey to 30.

3. Ryan Dungey (Red Bull KTM) had to work his way by a pair of replacement riders (Dean Wilson and Cole Seely) to get to his eventual third-place spot.

4. Andrew Short (BTO Sports/KTM) was on a mission to move forward tonight, and muscled his way by Dean Wilson and Cole Seely, and he and Justin Barcia went back and forth a bit before Shorty nabbed the fourth.

5. Justin Barcia (Team Honda Muscle Milk) ended up fifth, but not before Broc Tickle took a crack at him in the last turn (which is who Justin's looking at here).

6. Watching teammates race each other hard is always fun, and Josh Hill and Broc Tickle (RCH Racing Soaring Eagle) were going at it for a bit in the main. Tickle had the advantage this time, and grabbed the sixth.

7. Weston Peick (MotoSport.com/WP Racing) had a tough crash in the heat race, and just missed out qualifying in the semi, so he had to come through the LCQ. In the main he started 12th, and moved to seventh at the finish. Nice!

8. Josh Hill (RCH Racing Soaring Eagle) eventually finished in eighth spot.

9. Justin Brayton (Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX) moved from 14th at the end of lap one to ninth at the end.

10. Rounding out the top ten for Detroit was the other half of the Toyota/Yamaha/JGRMX crew, Josh Grant.

We're halfway though. Now onto the 250s.

1. Adam Cianciarulo (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) may be a Supercross rookie, but he's looking like a seasoned vet as he grabbed his third win of the season, and continues to stretch his points lead, which is now 17.

2. Justin Bogle (GEICO Honda) had a whiff of a shot at the win, but couldn't quite reel in Adam Cianciarulo. Still, this was his best finish of the season, and his career-best to date.

3. Blake Baggett (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) was buried in the pack early in the main, but charged all the way back to third at the finish.

4. Kyle Cunningham (Smartop MotoConcepts Racing) had his best race of the season by far, cracking the top four.

5. Matt Lemoine (JAB Motorsports) put in his best ride of the season so far, grabbing a fifth after starting in mid-pack.

6. Martin Davalos (Monster Energy Pro Circuit Kawasaki) had a rough night, and was in survival mode after a punishing crash in practice. He had the holeshot, but another crash dropped him to third, and we didn't see what happened on lap six, but he dropped all the way to ninth before making his way back up to the six spot.

7. Vince Friese (Factory MetalWorks) went back and forth a bit with Blake Baggett early in the main, and also got passed by Martin Davalos at about the two-thirds point in final.

8. Jeremy Martin (19, Yamalube Star Racing Yamaha) hasn't had a fun season so far, and Detroit was no exception. He had to make his way through the LCQ, and was 20th at the end of lap one. To make it back to ninth was strong.

9. Alex Martin (55, Rock River Yamaha) got edged out by his little brother, Jeremy Martin, right at the finish.

10. Jimmy DeCotis (56, dicing here with Gavin Faith) picked up the final spot in the 250 top ten.
