Round 11 – Detroit
Detroit, MI

Red Bull KTM teammates, Marvin Musquin and Ryan Dungey, were battling early in the 450 main in Detroit. This got really snug as they rolled over the next jump before crossing the start straight.

250 Heat 1
1. Tyler Bowers
2. RJ Hampshire
3. Shane McElrath
4. Aaron Plessinger
5. Arnaud Tonus
6. Matt Bisceglia
7. Cedric Soubeyras
8. Paul Coates
9. Justin Starling

Marvin Musquin led the first lap, but Ryan Dungey put a pass on him and pulled away.

2. Martin Davalos

We watched the race, saw Ryan Dungey cross the finish line, and go through the entire podium process, but things aren't always what they seem. For the first time that we can remember, a post-race penalty for jumping on a red cross flag moved the top finisher out of the number one spot.

450 Heat 1
1. Trey Canard
2. Ken Roczen
3. Justin Brayton
4. Jason Anderson

Jason Anderson moved into second spot with a lap to go, and was later awarded the win.

Someday, this photo will probably be part of the trivia question. While the finishing order looks like Dungey, Anderson, and Musquin; it actually ended up being Anderson, Musquin, and Dungey. Despite the setback, Dungey still expanded his points lead to 39, with Ken Roczen finishing in sixth.
