The atac system is terrible and has lots of issues and very high maintenance. That’s why exhaust companies make pipes that delete the system. The bike actually runs better without the atac system vs with it.
Look at the exhaust manifold diagram. It all seems to connect with it. Sorry if my questions are vague or sound dumb, this is all new stuff to me. All the engines I’ve rebuilt have never had a governor or an atac system! I know it’s beneficial to delete ... more »
After looking more at the parts diagram you’re right. I’ve never seen a governor before, I assumed it was part of the water pump since it’s all connected on the water pump shaft. What does the governor do exactly? Limit too speed? Is it connected in ... more »
The two pics are parts of the water pump and the last 3 are showing the hole and the cylinder
So I have a 1984 cr80 that is very close to being finished with the rebuild. I’m currently installing the water pump assembly then will be putting the new clutch in and the engine cover. While looking at the diagram and parts, I finally realized how

I’ve been desperately trying to find two new dowel pins for my 1984 Cr80 crankcase before I rebuild the engine. The dowel pin is part number 90705-639-000. It’s a size 8x20.5. I’ve looked up the part number and went to every site that sells the OEM pin ... more »

A leak down tester costs over $250!!
Yeah I have v force 3 reeds and a pro circuit pipe
Fuel was 32:1 and I was running 93. I used all balls crank bearings and a namura top end with cometic gaskets.
Carb was freshly rebuilt. Crank bearings were new. The crank might have been out of True since I did reuse the old one. What do you mean squish set too tight?
So just use a gasket only? You think it’ll seal ok?
There was no up and down play
Lol no I ran it once then took the exhaust off cause I saw a little black oil coming from it. I didn’t word that very good!
The boots are in perfect shape. It looked like the oil was dripping right from the seal where it touches the crank. I did install new crank seals, but I reused the crank. Also when it was running i took off the exhaust at one point and there was a lot ... more »

I've decided to rebuild it again. I just wanna know what caused it to do this. It wasn't the throttle. Maybe a seal went out?? Idk. I'm taking the motor off the frame now and then I'll tear it open and see what everything looks like. Could it be that ... more »
I've rebuilt two engines completely already and they went smoothly. Never had problems like this. The throttle wasn't stuck open. I bought this bike to flip and make a few hundred but I already went over my budget. I could've still make profit but not ... more »
