Dirty Dave 15A
About Me
Dave Arnold age 42 from omokoK, IN.
I started riding a Suzuki DS 80 in 1978 and started racing at age 12 in Indiana from 1979-1984. Raced at Ponca City, OK in 1983 and 1984 in which I didn't place well due to first year jitters at that level and 2nd year leading 2 motos and crashing bad on the first lap breaking my ankle. As for the AMA nationals my bad luck a couple years or just poor riding 1 year always seemed to start during the qualifers and I barely missed the opportunity.
Wow...looking back. Summers lasted forever and really I didn't race that long in my life but when you race 50-60 races a year at that age it seemed to be an eternity. An found memory.
Relative to my years racing I am proud to have accomplished what I did in a short period of time in and around Indiana. I didn't win a lot but it was fun being competive and winning a few against some of the best talent that Indiana had for years. Many had a head start in experience starting at a much younger age than I. The way the shedule was back then it was fun as many of us tried to predict where all the fast riders would be racing and we all went there. That definately made us all better.
Aside from my wins, I think some of my foundest memories are on my good days having good battles against Billy Robison, Rod Marshall, Tim Ramsey, Kurt Thomas, Mike Bretnacher, The Chapman Bros, The Brothers Davis, Mark Melton, Jimmy McKinney, Mike Leffler, J.R. Warmoth, Ed Clevland, Sean Noland, Todd DeHoop, Andy Michner, Kenny Boehlmeier, Freddy Faschnot, and even Connie Feist even if it was only for the first lap or so a couple of times
