come on you glorious bastards, someone has to be able to unlock the mystery of this bike ive been rolling around the garage for years. back story traded a cbr600rr for a 2008 crf450r. didnt know much about the bike it was through a friend of a cousin of a coworker that was dating a celebrity look a like or something like that. when i got the bike it was pointed out to me that it has an AMA tech inspection sticker so it has been in "the show" we just dont know who or what...... today I went to change the oil and mint milkshake came out. fair enough i neglected her so long she wanted proper attention. the lingering whos bike was this has always been there. today finally i found at least a hint of who built it or rode it. on the head i found some engraving. im thinking it might be the engine builder. the head has some obvious work done to it. epoxy in both intake and exhaust ports. google thinks it might be Jim "bones" Bacon from Pro Circuit.

took top end off and seems to be a stock crank and piston. i havent found any other marking on her anywhere.
That engraving is from the factory. I don’t know what it means but I’ve seen them
many times including this cylinder head from an 06 CRF 250 that I have in a box.
well damn back to square one.
If they are from the factory, I'd bet they are inspector's marks. A person's initials and a code for date, assembly factory or other trace-worthy info.
