I miss that track. Had some good times there.  Helping friends get to the National, going to the go kart track  on the days that got rained out.  One of my friends dads was into eating exotic meats and he had given us what I thought was burgers and steaks and some pork chops. Turned out to be Bear , and I still have no idea what the others were.  Jimmy Decotis was doing the am day and pitted way across from us and he and his friends were starving and had run out of food. I gave them the meat and they were so thank full and told me that it was some of the best they had ever had. Jimmy's mechanic at the time got their funmover stuck in the mud and ripped the front bumper off of it when they pulled it out.  I think he was fired after that. If not right after it was very soon after. And Broome was one of the first races he went to with Jimmy.  Jimmy was still on an 85 at that time.  And funny thing, his Mechinic would end up becoming a truck driver years later and get fired for taking a detour to look at the Broome track with a buddy that was traveling with him.  So that place was bad luck for him.

So many great memories and fun times.

Holy shit, that's my son in the back with the black shirt on sitting on my shoulders. We loved that place.

I had as feeling that somebody in the background was going to be posting on here.  That place is awesome , I went to a bunch of the NY state championship races . A friend of mine moved out that way that I grew up with and used to go to the races with. We would meetup at his house and then go to the track. Sometimes we stayed at his house.  His mother had a farm with 200 acres and he had a track  with some good sized jumps. Ryan Mills and Phill Nicoletti, a bunch of NY racers used to ride there .

He told me a story about Ryan Mills. He used to have a key to the gate at Broome and could ride whenever he wanted. But then he started going there at night and having parties. At first they were smaller and nothing happened. But then he had a big party and the cops came , some stuff got damaged and Ryan lost his key to the track. They were up in the announcers tower  playing music and something caught fire or was trashed. I don't remember the specifics. And that was early on in his racing, before he was a pro.

Looks like my Screenshot did not attach. I'll try it again.

Wild to see how much they have done there! I was looking at Google earth and flipping through the years and you can see they have made a bunch of different tracks.  The  yellow lines marks the area the national track is on. That alone is over16 acres!

Looks like they had some stands and an SX track on the other side of the road  and then made a bigger track. But wow, it looks more like an off road park than a MX track. I would love to build and own a place like that , in the northeast. Someplace central to New England.  Like southern NH or eastern NY, western MA.  Maybe someday.

I got to my office yesterday at 5a & was just going to do a quick catch-up on new posts. That pic was one of the first things I saw & it made my day. Thanks for that.

It's crazy that he's 32 now & could probably have me on his shoulders easier.

I've been following them on social media & they've been working hard to get the place back into shape. I'm going to try to take a ride up next weekend just to check it out. Maybe I can even talk him into taking his YZ up for practice day.
