I bought this 2016 YZ 250 in June, rode it twice and the fourth gear came out, so I had to take it apart. Fixed it myself with my father (75 years old, loves moto more than me ).
Cleaned everything to my liking, changed the plastics, new gen yzf fender and number plate, washed, greased and reassembled it.
I also did a shock revalving for my weight, stripped the factory exhaust paint, i think it looks great overall with very little money spend, mostly elbow grase 😅
A couple of rides and it feels very good, for being my first 250 2-stroke, always 125 and 250 F.
The day I picked it up—low hours, but little maintenance or care..

Nice. 😎
That pipe looks killer! What did you use to strip it?
Thank you
! had it sandblasted and then a lot of scotchbrite 😅
For a stock pipe It ended up looking very good.
Looks good! Tell me about the forks…
They are just stickers, they look good and protect the fork! The only downside is that if you need to remove the fork, you have to peel off the sticker.
Link to the company that makes them here in Uruguay.
