I agree. Wright and Pettis are world class. That's the biggest difference. Same goes for Kullas. IMO, they shouldn't be racing here.
World vs National caliber riders.
That said, the rest of the field have a lot of work to do to close that gap. Got to find faster riders to ride with during the winter.
It's tough to get fast guys to come up here now with SMX in the US. They can race the Nationals and try to qualify for the SMX Playoff. I think 20th for that pays close to 30k. Then there's the bigger purse payouts for those three events. A fast privateer can do pretty well between the purse at the Nationals, manufacturer contingency, sponsor bonuses, and SMX playoffs if everything is covered.
Just checked qualifying for Gophers. Wright's fastest lap was 10 seconds faster than the 30th guy.
I checked RedBud just for the hell of it. Jett qualified fastest and the 30th guy was 12 seconds off.
Not that different, but they have a lot more depth and more guys in the top half that can run the pace.
Moto 1 Prado finished 3rd 24 seconds back, Hampshire 4th 52 seconds back, and Marchbanks 5th 1:03 back. Lapped up to 12th.
Moto 2 the first guy that was nearly a minute down was Marchbanks in 6th 55 seconds back, and they lapped up to 14th.

-Kade Johnson went down on the first lap and was stuck under his bike. Spectator lifted the bike off him and he was slow to get up.
