Please pray for my mum…

6/17/2026 12:16am Edited Date/Time 6/17/2026 2:06am

Mum is finally going for an MRI on Tuesday to hopefully get to the bottom of what has been causing the pain for more than 2 weeks now.

My sister went to the hospital to sort some things out after work and mentioned something that was a bit of a gut punch but, we’ll get through it.

Thank you for the continued support everyone, it means so much.

💪😌❤️💃

Mum was able to put her bottom teeth in and the speech pathologist was blown away by everything she saw today. We did some visual/verbal exercises today and mum did amazing.

She’s now onto the next meal plan before just regular food as we both decided it would be best to ease her back in.

Unfortunately she had another delirium episode this evening but was ok when it was time to say Goodnight.

I had a few good discussions that really motivated me to be more assertive and demand answers and action. It’s not in my nature and I needed a little nudge.

Looking forward to another amazing day and again, thank you for just taking the time to read my posts everyone.

Keep charging.💪😌❤️💃

Today was one of the best days over the last couple of weeks for mum. She was bright, verbal, and full of energy!

When I went back for the afternoon/evening, she was just as I had left her prior but, she cried for the first time from pure sadness (in front of my my sister and I).

She will get through this.

Thank you for the thoughts, prayers, and support everyone..

Ahh poor Mum. Being in the hospital for a long time can really be hard. Lots of up and downs emotionally. I feel bad for her. I hope she continues to make good progress so she can come home soon. Keep fighting Mum . you’ll get there.🙏❤️

Mum had one of her “off days” today and has been reluctant to eat lunch and dinner for the last few days, I tried to give her a banana which she has been loving but, didn’t want to know about it after one bite.

I took in some tuna salad I made with baby spinach, red and green bell peppers, cucumber, grape tomatoes, and boiled egg, nuit she didn’t even want that.

I’m trying to speak to a doctor but it’s almost impossible and the nurses can’t really help me figure out what’s going on which I understand.

I’m suspecting it’s the Endone and going through the process of elimination.. I’ve made a heap of notes for when I finally get to see a doctor.

She did have some diced peaches and some fresh strawberries but still kind of struggled to get through even that.

Just another challenge that she/we will overcome. The MRI is on Tuesday as well as another scan that I can’t recall off the top of my head so hopefully this gives us some answers and we can continue to move forward and get back on the path towards recovery that she was on and doing so well.

I’ll post an update when I know more my friends.

Thank you for allowing me to share all this everyone, it helps me so much to just write what’s happening in the hopes that even a few read it.

She’s  just going through a little down period, and doesn’t feel like eating much. Come on Mum , you need to eat to get your strength. 💯🙏

MRI day today. Although this should have been taken care of much sooner, I’m just looking forward to getting this sorted so mum can get  back to recovering like she was before the pain started setting her back.

Thank you for giving mum and I all the positive energy my friends.

Well today was not one of the better ones. Mum was in quite the state when I arrived this morning.

I went in before visiting hours to make sure I could spend a decent amount of time with her before she left and she was really off to the point that she spat her medication out (she has never done that) and did not want to even eat some fruit that she normally would.

I’ve suspected it’s the pain medication that has caused this change over the 4/5 days and had planned to talk to the doctor assigned to her.

I was able to just as she was leaving for the MRI (first time I’ve seen him) and told him I want her pain management plan changed to which agreed, even saying “Good for the pain, not the brain”.

She was on Endone and they switched her to Ordine a couple of days ago. The plan is to give her something that won’t mess her up as much and still offer relief but, still have Ordine charted if she really needs it. It turns out she was receiving too high of a dose of the opioids on top of it really causing problems.

She came back from the MRI and was on so much pain from them leaving her bad arm/wrist all folded up and was breathing extremely rapidly for about 30 minutes before everyone tried to figure out the pain medication. She finally calmed down on her own and the night shift doctors pumped her with Ordine and not even the lower dose!

I bit my tongue but will be having words tomorrow if I can ever speak to the doctor… The new computer system that was introduced 4 weeks ago to all the hospitals is an absolute joke.
There were  3 nurses and 2 doctors standing around the computer that they all walk around with now on a rolling desk while mum was coming good and they ignored her and I the whole time just to give the medication she wasn’t supposed to have, and didn’t need.

Sorry for the long rant everyone, I’m just a bit pissed off.

Thank you for letting me vent and I know tomorrow will be an amazing day.

💪😌❤️💃

sigh....I'm so sorry.

Keep a log book where you write stuff down best you can, like drug names, dosage amounts and day and time they are given if at all possible. Its difficult to keep the names of drugs straight in your brain and keeping notes helps a lot.

Keep advocating for her. Imagine her level of care if she had no one who did.

Today the doctor came to see mum and we learned some things… A new challenge but one mum can get through, I know it.

He was amazing (it’s a different one to the first couple of weeks in Belmont) and really wants to help mum as he said: “This is not the same woman I saw last week”.

I’ll keep it short but, there was already an improvement to yesterday and treatment had not even really started.

@Sandberm656 I took a notepad in this morning and am logging everything. Thank you for suggesting that.

Today was an amazing day as I knew it would be and I have to thank you all for your thoughts and or prayers.

We still don’t have the MRI results but things are moving in the right direction.

Keep charging.💪😌❤️💃

Keep the updates coming Ezza. It is really great to hear some positive progress that Mum is making.

It's also good news to hear that the new Doctor is amazing. That will make a huge difference on your Mum's journey to get well.

Strength to you Ezza.

Just a short update as so much is going on that it’s just another day by day situation.

Dehydration is one of the main reasons there has been a regression over the last 7 days. It is being treated and today I saw a massive improvement (small to most, massive to me).

We are still waiting for some test results (MRI and bloods) but am stoked to see that she is once again getting through yet another challenge.

Thank you for the kind messages, support, thoughts and prayers everyone.

Keep charging. 💪😊❤️💃

Today was amazing fellas! Mum was speaking more, smiling and laughing when I would try to tell her something funny, and reacting to other things I was telling her (just random things that are going on).

She was so alert, energetic, and hungry! Her appetite was not the greatest over the week and a bit (still eating fruit and yogurt, plus having little protein shakes) but today was just like before she started to struggle!

I’m so stoked and know that the the thoughts and prayers find their way to mum.

Thank you so much legends. Keep charging.

💪😊❤️💃

That's great news, Ezza. Here's hoping Mum keeps progressing, and it's cool to see your watching moto (Jett) on her iPad.
