@Racer111... Just did my biggest and steepest climb here locally, probably 2000 feet of climbing only a little over 20 miles but Heart Rate pegged at 190 with an avg of 165. Spent is an understatement! Only done that climb once before but figured I gotta try and keep pace with you! haha

Smart thing to do!! I hate when I see on Racer X that "So and so's bike was stolen and doesn't have a bike to race this weekend etc......

Everyone should ensure a bike that can be wheeled off in the middle of the night and you'd never know it!!

I'd rather spend a little extra to know I am covered. Especially with a bike like this. They take about 6 months to get!

Racer111 congrats on the new bike! I got into cycling a couple years ago and have been hooked on it since! I have done a few time trials in socal and it seems like alot of triathletes show up and do really well. Its not so much for endurance since there usually around 10-12 miles, but a great way to see how far you can push yourself to your limits. Good luck with your races this year!

Thanks brother!! Yes, Chris Lieto is one of the best triathletes out there and he does a lot of the TT's out there. Cycling is an amzing sport in itself! I can't wait for the TDF this year.

To be honest I dont stick to just one but I incorporate Lake Skinner and around the wineries at times if I want a longer ride. Then like today I did La Cresta and Los Gatos for my climbing. Also from Murrieta to San Marcos is a really good ride as well. If you're up for some danger there is the Test track loop too, where you are on Grand for a while through Lake Elsinor down to Corona and back.

Awesome! Go into my recent tweets from just a few hours ago I posted a pic of Los Gatos... Only about a mile but is sooo flipping steep! Someone once told me around 26% grade in spots

I am HUGE motocross/Supercross fan, but in the last year I have gotten in to the sport of Triathlon. I watched videos of David Bailey doing the Ironman World Championships in Kona,Hawaii and just got motivated to go and try it. I trained and did my first triathlon this past September. I have been cycling and running for MX conditioning for years so just getting aquainted with the water was all I had to do.. I am signed up and registered for 5 triathlons this year. I am doing 2 Olympic distance triathlons (mile swim, 24.8 mile bike, 10K run) 2 Half Ironmans (1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike, and 13.1 mile run) and one full Ironman (2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike, and a 26.2 mile run) I am down in Florida training at the National Training Center in Clermont,FL and having a blast. I live in Zephyrhills,FL. I am only about 30 minutes from JS7's house, maybe I'll see him out riding sometime! lol Anyway, I got my new Triathlon bike the other day and professionally fit by a RETUL fitter to get me as aerodynamic as possible. People want to complain about the price of 4 strokes, but this BICYCLE cost me 8,900.00 dollars!!! lol However, it's an amazing machine!!! Since I have been training, my fitness on the MX track is better than I ever thought. 45 minute motos are nothing anymore. My endurance is off the charts. Looking forward to racing both MX and triathlons this year.

Totally cool!!!!! Is this the bike where the front brakes are built into the fork for less wind resistance? If I remember, they retract into the forks??? My buddy is a cancer survivor (a few times) and does these. I love that bike!!!!!!!!!

Thanks I will have to check those out sometime! I didnt even know you could get to corona from elsinore on a bike lol. My favorite ride is from Rancho Calif up into De luz and then you take that through fallbrook and into oceanside.

A Huffy would take me about 2 and a half hours longer to get the 112 mile portion of the IM done. I am liking the the 4 hour and 30 minute bike split as opposed to the 7 hour bike split. I already have a new CRF 450! So I am good! Smile

Racer111, how much time do you spend working out on the girl in your avatar?

That looks like a much harder workout than anything with any 2 wheeler..... (at least more fun!).

When I said I ride 250-300 miles a week, I didn't just mean my bike! Tongue
