The greatest racing day of the year has always been the Sunday of Memorial Day weekend. Breakfast at Monaco, Lunch at Indy and Dinner at Charlotte for the 600. Combine that with the Pro Nationals on Saturday and it's a weekend full of racing. This year F1 got the brilliant idea of moving Monaco to June and the Nationals don't start until this weekend. My two favorite races of the weekend weren't on the schedule. This is not an improvement.
Make Memorial Day Racing Great Again.
Hell, they just need to overall,
Make F1 Great Again.
From the powertrain, and tyre regs, to lousy street circuits, and the choice of the streaming service.
Put the driver's back in control.
And get back to real GP circuits.
Charlotte was streaming somewhere too evidently. I can't recall where, but I did blow off trying to figure it out.
But McG is 100% correct. The whole thing has been FUBAR.
Yeah, what the effff was that all about? One of the crown jewels and you can only watch it if you have Prime. Might be easier to list the racing series that didn't fail last weekend.
The fact that Max is generally considered the current greatest driver and is pretty much an afterthought tells you what you need to know about current state of F1.

To the casual or new F1 fan the 2026 series has been compelling. George & Kimi + Max & Lewis, combined with a podium celebration that seemed genuine, lures viewers. The core fan may watch with a disgruntled smirk, but they’re still watching.
Global viewership and event attendance have increased YoY. US interest appears to have plateaued, while some Euro segments have seen slight dips (for the reasons JB outlines above). FIA have announced engine changes in a few years, which should restore some faith, but Liberty is making hay while the sun shines.
They are making hay as well they should. By great planning or dumb luck with "Drive to Survive" they are at historic levels of popularity. The problem is if they try to get too cute (which they seem to be doing) they can kill the golden goose.
I’m surprised that anyone doesn’t have PRIME.
If you want to watch proper old school motorsport that hasn’t been ruined by the men in suits the Isle of Man TT has started with the first race being Saturday.
It’s already been a pretty tough practice week unfortunately.
IoM is my #1 bucket list race, followed by F1-Spa. We just moved 20 minutes north of Daytona so 24 Hrs, SX, 200, and a bunch of NASCAR stuff is on the docket.
You can also watch on the app TT+ for not a lot of money for the content you get. That’s what I do every year, hope to be going to watch next year.
There’s lads I race with that are doing the Manx which is the amateur version later on the in year. Some serious time and money goes into just getting on the start line.
