I just installed some nitro mousses in a fresh set of AT82’s and D739’s and am second guessing my install. The bibs were extremely tough to get seated in the drop center and I chewed up a bit of the bead. No loud pops, but some tearing of the rubber and mesh around the wire bead. What’s the consensus on the possibility of catastrophic bead damage?
Having flashbacks of a snapped bead in the middle of Baja while I clean up nitro spooge…
Were you able to seat the tire bead on the rim?
Yep. Beads seated nicely.
If it seated then I don't think you have anything to worry about. Anytime I've broken a tire bead it wouldn't seat.
