I personally hate to see some of these young men, Sexton for current example, struggling to compete week to week. I don’t know all the reasons, some mental, some physical, some burnout maybe, but it gets to be hard to watch. The racing would be so much better with them in the mix week to week, we know they have the bike skills, speed and many of them are decent guys. I am a fan of most of the guys in general and greatly admire their skill.

The first I think of is Sexton. At one time I thought he was the heir to Tomac. Although his technique is different he has the speed. Their epic outdoor battle a few years back was awesome. For some reason he does not seem to be able to overcome what ever it is that causes him to lose his focus/ touch and crash or stall the bike.

Ferrandis was unstoppable a few years back. I wasn’t crazy about a few of those weird takeouts with Craig and others, but no denying he had next level skills. I know he had some injury but most come back from those that do not end their career. He has been mediocre for some time now.

Anderson, yes has won a championship and many races. But think he had the skill to be a podium guy and race winner more often. I don’t think he purposely knocked down as many guys as he gets accused of, but he did seem to let some of those individual races battles interfere with the big picture, which is to win the dang race.

Barcia was the worst example of someone unable to see the big picture. Feuds, blocking, crashing, t-boning, etc. Guy had the speed and skill, but his biggest legacy will be just that fueds, blocking, crashing, etc. The greastest example of not having vision ahead of the guy in front or behind you.

Savatgy was never the same after getting punted by Osbourne. I am glad to see the rebound now but I think he had more potential and that moment back then was a major blow to his mental game. There are many others to insert in place of Savatgy. Cooper and Shimoda and others likely getting confidence issues because of the Lawrences coming along as the golden boys. Also other guys getting pushed aside from their current team for upcoming “stars”. Confidence busters that only the greatest can overcome.

Hire a professional performance coach. The thing I don't understand is repeating the same thing without change other than manufacturers.  This comes from a Sexton fan.

There can only be 1 race winner, but these guys are getting paid to ride dirtbikes so they're all winners in my book.
