I've been hearing about a local track (DeSoto Speedway) re-opening an MX track for some time now. Great News!! They were open twice before, and I've been looking forward to not having to drive so far to practice. DeSoto also has an existing drag strip, and roundy-round track. I heard yesterday that the new mx track will be built in the infield of the 3/8 mile "turn left...." track. Well............... kinda feels like a good news/bad news dealio, but I guess I should STFU until I get a chance to ride it.
I haven't been out there for years, so maybe they have more room to work with than I remember. Not sure what they will do with the paved figure-8 section on the infield, maybe some kind of "Jump-The-Gator-Pit!" thingy. They're supposed to be open in 2 weeks or so, that's good news.

Can't even tell you how many baseball stadiums, car tracks and parking lots South Florida people raced in over the last few decades...pretty much commonplace for a long time.

It's not being run by Pete Scalzo, but he did run the old track for a while back in the mid 80's for a bit. I think the new guy running it is Keith Haluska.
Ya Flarider, I remember riding at some mud-bog track over on the east coast where they had the track next to the MUDDD BOGG........ (not Naples) That was back when Shaun Skinner was still a novice. And yes, you're right, this will def. be better than nothing.
