Im curious,  how many kids have you raised from the cradle to HS graduation?   Have you lived thru all the stuff that goes down thru those years?  Have you spent almost two decades trying to mold this human piece of clay into a law abiding, decent person?   One day at time for 18+ years?

The one variable that has to be addressed in 21st Century America, isnt the parents,  but the ultimate affect of a kids viewpoints from social media.

There used to be a saying, "Show me your friends, and I will show you your future."
That needs to be amended to say,  "Show me what websites/media you are plugged into daily, and I will show you if you end up respecting laws and being an asset to society or you turn out to be a libtard, unhinged kook bent on violence and chaos."

This stuff was NOT a factor in past generations.  Kids these days are literally plugged into some type of persuasion basically soon as they are old enough to hold the smart phone in their hand.

Ive have seen parents do everything right,  from day-one ,  and those kids turn out to be worthless.   And Ive seen kids from dysfunctional, poor and violent homes,  turn out to be model citizens and leaders in their own pursuits.

IMHO the external factors of social media and peer groups have the most influence on kids and how turn out.

I see someone "gets it". If people would just read this post, /\/\/\/\ they would be so much wiser.

How can You say that this is any more or less of a suppression of free speech than what is going on with Kimmel?   The president himself is saying that he and the FCC are behind it. And there are stations not airing him.

The funny thing I see happening with Democrats is they are always saying that Trump lies all the time. But then when  he says something that makes him look guilty or bad or that they like. They believe him.

It might have been the best thing that happened to his show, the views on Youtube jumped from an average of 2-3 Million per monologue to  11 million on his first show back, and a boost to the older clips as well. And the TV ratings that had been slowly dropping since 2015 were the best they have been since 2015.

I know its a little off subject, but both families of the Kirk assassin and the Ice shooter are all conservatives other than the shooters. The ICE shooter was registered as an Independent , and I don't think the Kirk shooter had voted. I don't want to use their names and give them any publicity . Do You think there is a connection to shooters seeming to come from conservative families?  I don't connect the party to the shooter so the families party  doesn't matter to me either. But Since a lot of people seem to think its an attack on the right by the left. How would the families and upbringing factor into that?

I know that I have my more neutral political perspective from growing up and seeing and hearing my parents talk about how they were voting and why, and also hearing what my mother would say about the interviews of politicians she did. She hardly would talk about their party, mostly about how they themselves were and how the interview went. The party didn't really matter to her as much as the candidate and what they wanted to do and how they answered questions. A lot of those were during the time the Fairness doctrine was around so she had to have equal time for both sides, and she kept doing that after the laws changed.

The way the kids are raised seems like it could factor into what lead to them going crazy, or not. But that seems more relevant to what type of person You are than who You vote for does.

Why do you even bring up the parents. It's kind of obvious if the parent turned him in, their political beliefs don't align. You do know he was in an I n timate relationship with a tranny,  and yet you accept that. You don't say that can't be because his parents are in a traditional relationship. SMH

Both familes of both shooters were mostly conservitives.   I wondered how the way they raised thier kids could have impacted the way decided to react.

Seems as relitive as how the shooters voted.

You dont think there are any gay or trans people in the republican party? Not trying to argue that the kirk shooter wasnt a democrat. But do think its silly to think that there wouldnt be some trans people who vote republican.

And yet you have parents, should we worry about you? And we know from family and friends that he became extremely left the last few years. What happened in those last few years? He left for college. Hmm. Regardless, we probably could find as many commonalities (that are meaningless) with you to justify why we should be worried about you. But the fact that he lived and was involved with a trans, should tell you he was nothing like his parents. So again, your pulling meaningless strings out of air to divert attention from the obvious because you don't want to own the truth. And by continuing to defend a group that has resorted to such vile behavior, you are part of the problem. Until you're willing to accept the truth that this is a lefty problem, you'll just enable more violence.

I was just wondering what You thought about it since having a trans boyfriend  seemed to matter. I was wondering  if You thought they may have had any impact on what lead both kids down the bad road they went down.

I've had friends that have done just about everything You can think of.  But I always had the values my parents instilled in me that kept me from joining in . And instead I stopped hanging out with the Kids that were doing bad stuff. I realize everybody is different.

I have been wasting too much time  on here and I'm going to try harder to stay away. I really just want everybody to get along and realize there is a lot more that goes into making a person become evil than who they sleep with, or how they Vote. I wish it was as simple as a single easy to identify thing  responsible for all of the crimes.  I'll condemn all violence , I don't care what side they vote for.

It was a question and no I have not raised any kids. Just been very aware of  how different parenting styles impacted the way my friends acted in their teens and into early adulthood.

Again it was a question  , since some people seem to think that having a trans boyfriend or whatever that would be called , or the way You vote has such a massive impact. I wondered how some of those people would feel about the impact of the family.  And if they thought there was a connection to both recent shooters  happened to have parents AND siblings that were all conservative.

Yah I'll agree with you that social media has a very big impact. Its a big echo chamber designed to get people to engage .And  there are some crazy ideas that get pushed on social media from people that are associated with all of the political parties. But its the minority of both parties that are responsible for the majority of the bad stuff.

Not to seem one sided , I'm only listing these to show that  idea that Democrats alone are responsible for all the political violence is just not true. I am not denying that crazy people associated with democrats did do bad things, and not trying to minimize them either, just provide balance.

There was a plot to kidnap a democrat Governor by trump supporters, Nancy Pelosi's husband attacked by another, the  Senator and their wife that were killed were all Republicans or people who were vocal Trump supporters so I am grouping them in as republicans.

Yes the 2 most recent shootings appear to have been somebody that  is  more left leaning.  But there is a history of people from both parties having gone crazy and trying to hurt or kill somebody for political reasons.

Can I assume that You think the families have little to no impact?

I am going to step away from being on the board so much for a while. I need to spend the little time I have right now more wisely.

It has everything to do with it. There are straight, gay, trans, people that are Rs and Ds. But, you're not likely to find people on the right that bought into "Hitler", "Fascist", "anti ICE", "men can have babies", "we love criminals" propaganda. Sure you might have people that have varying opinions and some may have more compassion for Illegal immigrants and whatever. But put all those together and I guarantee you they are not "right" (see what I did there?" When I was 18-22 I had the worst relationship with my Dad. Barely talked to each other. None of the things I did was within what I was taught growing up in my house. During those years you are growing as a person and changing a LOT. You are very influenced by who you hang with. Eventually, you start to settle down and many of your core values start to come back. Now you are a combination of values (examples you grew up with) you learned as a child and the experiences you acquired on your own. Unfortunately, without guidance, those young impressionable years can get into a lot of trouble. Bad people can influence you to believe that everyone around you is bad and you're the good one, the only way to fix things is violence. And here we are.

I'm not saying that the most recent shootings are not people who are Democrats,  It sure seems that way, I'll give You that.   yah if You only factor the most recent shootings in with the little that has been put out, its been more 1 sided .

But throughout history ( what my point has always been) its not so lopsided and people from both parties have killed and been killed.  And some of Political assassins happen to be not affiliated with either party. As in not registered to vote and claiming to be a part of an extreme group. Its why I feel like its more  a SICK people thing ,than it is a party thing.

Even just the past year. And leaders from both parties say stuff that would be better not said about their opponents. I'm not looking at this small piece of time, I went and looked up a lot of stats , and If You look You can see them too. Videos with leaders from both sides saying things either in clips that are out of context that sound bad, or in the full context still sound bad. Maybe You happen to agree with the statements that the right makes, that I think are as bad as each other. And that's why You don't think its both sides that are guilty of political violence .

I'm just gonna stop posting in here after this . I'll ready any reply You post,   I've been spending too much time on here.

That kidnapping plot was 100% govt orchestrated and proven in court. There were like a dozen fbi agents that got those guys jazzed up talking about it in a chat room or something. So drop that one from your list.

Nancy’s husband? Hahahahahahahah. He’s known locally for frequenting gay bars. I’m pretty sure the “hammer attacker” was from Canada as well.

If I’m wrong in either of these someone can correct me and I’ll admit I’m wrong. It’s hard to keep up with all the govt bullshit these days.

A good statistician can make any numbers support any narrative they want. Sometimes, you have to look at a longer period of time, sometimes you have to look at a shorter period of time. Kind of like, how many years did we have to shut down the country in the last 90 years? Then it seems like a low number, but if you say how many years did we shut the country in the last 5 years, your talking serious shit. In this case, you need to look at recent political assassination attempts. Because all of this started with Donald Trump and is related to a political party trying to convince their side that President Trump is evil. Also note, there are a lot of Republicans who dislike President Trump. He didn't come up through the ranks and is disrupting a system where they all get rich. Note: being Republican and conservative are 2 different things. They use words like "fascist", "dictator", "Hitler", So when you see people committing vile acts using those words, you have to ask "why do they believe that?" Who put that idea in their head? Then you look at other things how they lived and why they believe that. Pretty soon the mosaic starts to show the picture. In many cases, your responses indicate that you're still too close to the mosaic (only looking at voter registration as an example) to see the picture. But also, if you get to far (looking at stats from 100 years), the picture gets blurry and you can't pick out the relevant details.

My unsolicited advice to you is, give some weight to what older people say in addition to what you learn on your own.  And always ask yourself, who's making money from this or who's going to lose money. That alone answers a lot of questions.

Thanks for the honest answer.  I wasnt fishing for anything,  just curious what on your background and how your perspective was shaped on the kids thing.   Everyone has the right to an opinion,  but I have to say once you have put in what it takes to take a child from the hospital to adulthood,  it changes how you see and how you judge how kids turn out.   I got lucky,  the work I put in on my son worked.  But I try not to judge other parents for how their kids ultimately end up,  when I have seen first hand how even the best attempts didnt work.

To answer your question,  YES,  parents can have a impact.  But as a rule,  adolescents are rebellious and always seek ways to 'stick it to the man'.  Difference is,  in years past,  when kids acted out the Establishment and parents frowned on and discouraged youthful rebellion.  We all had to go through that phase and at least in my generation, we caught hell from our parents for the stupid shit we pulled or sought to do.   But nowadays, the Left is embracing a childs delusion or bad decision making,  and actually enabling stupid behavior.  Championing it and via media and social sites,  showcasing new types of lunacy for them to embrace.  When what the kid really needs is a steady keel to help them weather the hormone raged seas of youth,  not stir up the water even more,  break their compass and capsize their mental well being.   They need a lighthouse, not a siren.

No doubt there is looney birds on both sides of the aisle through out history.  But lets just be honest here,  in recent years its the Left championing the mentally ill and enabling their delusions.  Non stop rhetoric from every media source and politician,  that is inciting these wackjobs into doing very dangerous and lethal things.  They are impressionable skulls full of mush and easily steered.     Look at virtually EVERYTHING associated with the Charlie Kirk assasination, all peaceful and orderly from the Right.   Anytime the Left goes through a tragedy or wrong doing,  cities burn, stores destroyed and looted and innocent people are hurt or killed in the chaos.   It would be very easy to support that statement, too.

I appreciate you taking time to explain where you are coming from.

Vital has been clicking people for saying things management didn’t agree with for how long? Wasn’t the argument it’s a “private” message board?
Vitards abandoned free speech a long time ago.

Operating under the terms, and restrictions of this, and other boards, or social media sites, isn't anything protected by the 1st amendment.

Not sure why that's so hard for some here to comprehend.
