So the real story here , is how one guy made 5 other guys race way harder than they wanted too.
After Moto1 IG wasnt happy that TG243 had cleaned him out, i think it was 50/50, just one of those things.
So with TG243 being a DNF, he is out of the overall, so nothing to lose as such, he just wants a good race, Febvre wants a 1-1-1, and Herlings is looking to get a podium.
So Vlaanderen is on for a Podium , but not if Reneaux passes him and Gifting, and Gajser, and neither of them want to get beaten by the local guy on a private Yamaha, when they are on factory bikes, Gajser knows he has to stay in front of Gifting , else the Viking is gonna show him some love, and as a result the speed from all of them closes the whole field up , Febvre knows Coenen is nowhere , but still wants the points but cant up his game late on in the race.
Gifting makes passes on a track that you apparently cant pass on, and the rest of them are just stunned at who they are getting beaten by.
Had he not had the big off in Trentino when in behind Gajser, his season could have been very different.
Best race since DeDyker came from dead last to win at Mallory in 2008 (i think)
Amazing video title 😂.
Also when you hear in the press conference Herlings say "To do that pass, he must have some big things "down there" to do that."
He seemed to have the respect of all the top guys as well.
Watch this 0:45 - 0:55. It was Gifting mistake
