Bike had about 5 hours on it when the stock battery died so we put a new one into it just for the starting issues to still be there. It usually will crank once and then stop trying to start. Then randomly after pushing the start button it will try and actually start but the chances of it starting when it does that is low. We have pulled all the electricals out and looked for something that might be damaged/ not working but we didn't find anything so before we take it into a shop I just want to see if anyone on here has had the same issue or if anyone might know what is going on. Also the battery we got for it works as we put it into a different bike to make sure it did work.

I think I have the same issue.

Mine sat for about a month and when I went to start it today it did nothing. The battery was dead, so I changed it to a fresh one I had, but still nothing. No fuel pump priming or anything else when I hit the start button.

It had power to the solenoid, but no power at the connector harness to the start button. I traced the wires with power at after the solenoid and they go to a relay under the seat next to the ignition/CDI. I am assuming that the relay takes the power wires from the solenoid and splits them to the start button and the ignition/CDI.

I am betting that it is the relay, so I'm ordering one now.

Thoughts??

Also, according to a few teams that I’ve spoke with that only race these bikes, wires behind the left side number plate get chaffed and can break due to how they are routed and how the plastics/brackets are. Pull off the solenoid and fuse box behind the left side number plate and check for  ribs or breaks in the wires and also smooth out all the plastic tabs with sharp edges that the wires run over. There is also a metal bracket behind the frame on the left side underneath the airbox that holds the wiring harness. Make sure that nothing is rubbing or breaking from this one too.

I didn’t have any issues with broken or chaffed wires, so I’m still leaning towards the relay being bad on mine. I’ll update once the part comes in.
