2025 CRF 250R Longevity and Reliability

I think its pretty apparent that the newest iteration of the CRF 250R is a much improved version of the bike, but how is the Honda holding up in the long run? Im basically looking for feedback from guys who have stacked the hours on this bike in all types of conditions and what types of failures youve had and how many hours it took to get there. We are very much on the fence when it comes to what bike my son will ride next year, but weve narrowed it down to the Honda and the Yamaha now that it is apparent that weve missed out on Kawi's rebates as there arent any available near by. He has spent time riding both bikes in question and feels he can ride both bikes successfully.

It’s a Honda, have they ever been known for poor reliability? That doesn’t answer your question exactly but I think you would be pretty safe, no worse than any other color.

i mean we could argue that the early bikes had some valvetrain issues but i get where youre coming from, theyve always been solid. I guess my issue is i just dont see a lot of them like we see KTM and yamaha so its hard to get a read on it.

The spokes will be slightly loose around 250hrs, you should check the valves every 300 hrs and I’d recommend a top end at about 1000 hrs. I’m kidding obviously, but the bikes are indestructible. You might have “missed out” on the Kawi rebates but you will get a much better product in the end.
