Hey Guy's we made it over to North Carolina this week and are exploring around the beaches right now, but I definately want to check out some tracks while I'm here. I had a thread a few months ago that the NC guys gave me the scoop on all the tracks but I can't seem to find it on the new Vital format. I'm willing to drive inland a couple of hours to get to the good tracks. Let me know which ones you guys think are worth visiting. Thanks again.

Jacksonville used to run some nights under the lights. It's a pretty easy layout, real sandy of course. Halfmoon is not as sandy but a farther drive from Wilmington.

This place is more Supercross style and is more of a hike, but a cool track:

Wilmington is the only place I lived where I could be on the beach at noon and on the track that afternoon. I need to move back.

I'm leaving for High Point NC in the morning. I will be there for 10 days. Are there any tracks that are close to High Point area? If it isn't Charlotte or East Carolina I'm kinda lost to what towns smaller towns are close to bigger ones. I'd love to check out a track while I was there.

The Rolling Hills race that I mentioned above this weekend is about 45 minutes form High Point.
I live about 15 or 20 minutes from HP, if you need to use a garage or anything to work on your bike while you're here, you can swing by.

I wish I could bring my bike. I am going to High Point for the furniture market. I was planning on having room in the trailer for my bike and gear. This would have worked out nice as we are renting a house on 7 acres with washer/dryer ect. in Archdale on McNeil Rd. We just got done loading the trailer and there just isn't any room for my bike. My parents are coming with me and we are loaded to the gills with furniture, suit cases, trade show literature and food and coolers. We'll be bringing our own pork butt and ramps and potatoes from WV. lol I don't know why we are bringing so much food. I'm sure you guys have way more grocery stores than we do. I appreciate the offer. Are you going to the race at Rolling Hills? I'll definately try and swing by, help ya out and cheer ya on if so. Team WSR RULES It doesn't look like you can PM on this new board. Let me know if you are going and I'll post my info up.

Thanks guys, yeah Wimington seems like a cool little city, very friendly peeps and the beer at the brewery is pretty darn good, especially coming from microbrew central (Oregon). If you guys haven't been to the Mello Mushroom in Wilmington it's pretty good and they have tons of micros on tap and bottled. We are in Myrtle tonight to go to a show at the House of Blues, should be good. Even though it's a little overcast it feels good to be in 65 degree+ weather when I left my house in Bend on Monday morning it was 12 degrees. Any suggestions on a must see or do while in the area?

FlickitFlat,
I'm not racing this weekend as I'm between bikes at the present, but am going up Sunday morning for sure, I know the guy that runs the track.
Maybe you can find room for your helmet, I have two DRZ 400's with license plates that we could put a few miles on. I live about 20 minutes from Archdale.
Althouth I sure you will be plent busy with the furniture market. The locals stay the hell away from downtown High Point during it.
Shoot me an Email if you're interested.

Rolling Hills would be a great place to hit. Classic old school red clay Motocross and has been there for at least 30 years. I will be there but have not made up my mind yet if I will race or not.

not sure if you mean more things to do in Myrtle of back in Wilmington, but Kefi in wilmington is a good little joint. Also the Battleship memorial is a cool thing to do as well. By all means get downtown and walk around. The waterfront is awesome. Elijah's is a great restaurant/oyster bar down there.

As far as things to do in MB- golf and strip clubs- That's what Myrtle Beach does best

We got back to Wilmington late last night, wow, Myrtle is the longest strip mall I've ever seen in my life, strip clubs and giant mini golf complexes. The House of Blues is a good venue to see music at, we saw Switchfoot, great show.We escaped most of the day and went to the old mansion on Huntington beach South of Myrtle, that place is amazing and the brookside gardens across the street, that is an incredible sculpture collection dating back from the late 1800's, I've never seen such big Live oaks tree's in my life. The Huntington family is the same family that Huntington beach Ca was named after.

What kind of a drive am I looking at to get to Rolling hills from Wilmington? I'll come out if it's not too bad ,2.5hrs? I'm getting skunked on surf with wind that's been blowing so I need some action even if it's just checking out a race, and I like the sound of an old school clay east coast track. I'm not sure how to PM on the new format.

It's a little more than 2.5 hrs. Probably more like 4 hrs. It's in Reidsville, NC if you want to look at a map, north of Greensboro.
